D.I.Y: bleaching design

Needed supplies:
1. paint brush (small)
2. Clorox (with bleach) or any bleaching product
3. a jar/cup/plastic bin (to put water and bleach mixture)
4. water
5.any colored shirt (blank)
6. tape(masking, scotch, etc.)
*no duct tape
These photos are not in order but this is my work of today. a do-it-yourself shirt. I used bleach to make a cross design on this plain black shirt that i really didn't have any use for. so what you do is you use tape to make your design..it could be any tape, but try not to use duct tape. Make sure when you do any "bleaching activity" you wear clothes that are white or any clothes that you don't mind getting stained. i pored water in to a jar and add a little bit of bleach. Keep in mind that the more water you use, the lighter the bleach and also it's safer. if you use only bleach it might destroy your shirt completely. Just take a look at the photos if anything is not clear. Have fun.

While bleach use a paint brush to spread it across the fabric of the shirt but also put a piece of cardboard behind the shirt. It is very IMPORTANT that you do THAT.

Try to do this out side to be safe...you don't want that over whelming smell of bleach lingering around your house?
****1 1/2 cup of water with a mixture of 3/4 of bleach would be good.

**Don't for get to hang dry it...outside would be best. Leave it for about 10 mins. it doesn't take long, as long as the weather is nice.
This is how it looks like when it's all done and dry.
